Any news on an Ipod release?

What are the major bugs left to deal with?
Is there an expection on a release date?

I see that it will take quit a long time before a final release. Hopefully there will be one before my Ipod Photo is up for renewal

Seriously, what do you *expect* from a release.

Everything that is done is available now. A "release" will just be "Okay, what's done is good enough."

You KNOW exactly how much progress there is, because you can download it RIGHT NOW. It's called the "SVN Build" and it's everything we've got.

An official release would more or less mean a stable, well working product. I think that is what he is asking for.

Yes, but that still wouldn't be very different at all from an SVN build of 6 hours before. My point is that a "release" is constantly being worked toward, and so what are they expecting in regards to asking for news of it?

There's really nothing to say until a feature freeze has been decided on, and then that'll pretty much be announced anyway.

Yeah I think I meant exactly that with 'news': a projected date for a release.
But I guess there is none until it is announced and then there is need to ask for it anymore
