RVF on iRiver H1xx?

Hi, feel free to shoot this down if it's unreasonable, but I was wondering if it would be possible to make a viewer to watch a RVF type file that has been encoded for a different size screen. I was wondering if that would be easier then writing a whole new video system for the gray scale targets.

this has been done before, Wett ported it onto the H120 but it was unstable :(
