Use of a simulator for debugging WPS
« on: November 10, 2006, 02:25:54 AM »
I wish to use a simulator ipod-nano-sim-w32 for debugging. Has downloaded, but how it to use? In the documentation it is told - start "rockboxui.exe --help", receive the full list of options for start. I do so, but I receive only an empty line.
How to give him mine WPS?
Who can help?

Yeah, I've wondered for some time how one was supposed to use the simulator until the day I found that there was a UI256.BMP image in the same folder as rockboxui and that this image file serves as the quick-reference card... (it's a picture of the target player, with drawed in arrows that show what button is mapped to what key on the keyboard).  --  dunno if that is part of every simulator builds though.

I reckon the 'delete' key must pose as the ipod's power button, right?

I take it you have unzipped the file, giving you a /ipod-nano-sim-w32 folder?

In that that folder is rockboxui.exe - Click or double-click that application and the simulator will start...

Also, there is a background.bat batch file. Click or double-click that and the simulator will start with a marked-up picture of the player telling you what keys to press.

Also, there is a zoom.bat batch file. Click or double-click that and the simulator will start double size.
