Since i'm on a roll how about a simple midi writer plugin

Nothing insane, just to staves for a simple instrument that just is like a tone generator.  It's kind of hard to explain, but I think you got the idea.

If you're like me, you'll have been walking in the park or on the road or something and you instantly think of an amazing melody that would be great in a song you're trying to make.  But without paper, you can't write down.  Also this amazing addition to your song might come to you in the night and you don't want to wake anyone up so you grab your ipod off your headboard and punch in the notes.

Also when you put in a note it should play the tone of the note.

Febs:
Interesting idea.  It would be useful to be able to set the duration of each note.  For example:

Up/down:  raise/lower pitch of the note
Left/right:  increase/decrease duration of note
Select:  commit note to the staff

Of course, the note duration idea probably adds a great deal of complexity to the plugin.

Yes.  There was something like this for my mother's old samsung mobile phone.

It would also be useful if there were someway to make chords on the phone but I don't think it would be too hard to write code for that.

I though of this key config:
Rotate wheel - Select Pitch
Left^Right -  Duration
Select - Place note on the staff.
toggle the hold button - bring up menu
Play - Preview

Menu options:
Back
Save
Switch staves
Quit
Rename

this would be really cool, if i could i would help, how hard would the coding be since ive never coded anything but i can pick up things rerally fast,
if anybody would like to help me or i could just find tutorials online

There should also be also be variable speeds like

    * Adagio - slowly
    * Largo - slowly and broadly
    * Lento - "slow" but usually only moderately so
    * Andante - at a walking pace
    * Moderato - at a moderate tempo, neither fast nor slow
    * Allegretto - "a little allegro", understood to be not quite as fast as allegro
    * Allegro - quickly
    * Vivace - very fast, lively and brisk
    * Presto - fast
    * Prestissimo - very, very fast.
(could be arranged numerically 1-10)

there should also be able to set the scale(c-major,minor, etc.)

If someone wanted to go hard core they could make it a visual plugin with measures and various note types(whole, half-note, quarter,eighth, sixteenth) (same with rests) also impliment time signatures like 3/4, 4/4,
