Just trying to install rockbox for the first time. I am running into an issue that has me a little worried that I have a paperweight.
Wehn I try to extract the apple firmware, I get:
bob$ ./diskdump -r /dev/disk1 bootpartition.bi
n
diskdump v0.1 - (C) Dave Chapman 2005

and just hangs there.
I then did a restore, which I believed reformatted my ipod. I hope I am correct in assuming that it formatted it....I figured that it would fix any isses with the bad sectors.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Bob
linuxstb:
It looks like you're trying to install Rockbox on an HFS+ formatted ipod. Rockbox only works on FAT32 formatted ipods.

Thanks for the warning.
For those who will run into this issue in the future.....here is the way I went about fixing it.
