I'm assuming by your name, this is concerning the ipod? Which one?

And can you describe *exactly* how you installed it.

Put it this way, until we know what is wrong we will have to keep asking you questions. The more questions we have to ask, the more time it will take.

It sounds to me like you are missing the ".rockbox" directory. Try moving the rockbox.zip to your ipod and extracting it from there. The reason for this is that the .rockbox (note the dot) directory is often hidden by your Operating System, so you'll only see the rockbox.ipod file.

PLEASE attempt to make your posts readable with proper grammar and punctuation, as required by our posting guidelines.

To return from the Apple firmware to Rockbox, press and hold the Menu and Select buttons. Release the buttons when the player restarts.

Please read our posting guidelines. Things like "thnx" are not acceptable here.

Also, does it show the bootloader text?

No it does not show the bootloader text, the screen goes blank and goes back to the apple main menu

Did you actually install the bootloader? And you've done nothing but shut down, and reboot while holding Menu to get to Apple?

i installed the bootloader and it was running fine except it didnt have a .rockbox file. i then put that in while i was running on original software (because this was over a period of time) and now with the .rockbox file in there i cant get back to rockbox.

How did you get back to the original software? And have you updated your iPod since then (or has iTunes updated it)?
