Installation / Removal > Apple - Installation/Removal

Cannot get through step d.1

(1/1)

Miki01:
Hey guys, I'm having a little trouble on step d.1 on the installation guide.

The step is:

--- Quote --- d.1) (All users INCLUDING Video/5G) Extract the Apple firmware from your firmware partition image.

Type the following command to extract Apple's firmware from the bootpartition.bin image file:

ipod_fw -o apple_os.bin -e 0 bootpartition.bin

This should create a file approximately 5MB in size called apple_os.bin containing the Apple firmware for your iPod.
--- End quote ---

The problem is, when I type ipod_fw -o apple_os.bin -e 0 bootpartition.bin in the command promt I get:

--- Quote ---C:\rockbox>ipod_fw -o apple_os.bin -e 0 bootpartition.bin
`ipod_fw` is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
--- End quote ---

What am I supposed to type before that?

I have a 30GB 5.5G video. I'm installing through Windows (duh) and I also dualboot from Ubuntu Linux, though I'm only intermediate with linux.

Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your replies.

Llorean:
Did you download ipod_fw.exe and is it in C:\Rockbox\ ?
