Couple of questions
« on: November 04, 2006, 09:20:38 PM »

I havea apple video ipod.  I believe it is the 5th generation.
I have trouble using it due to the fact that I can’t see it really well. I found this program rockbox. And, I can’t figure out how to use it. Can someone help me.I’m kind of new to this due to the fact that I have trouble seeing the computer.  I am using Zoomtext.  I’m hoping that rockbox with the ipod.
A couple of more question.
1 does rockbox speak?
2 Is there a manual that I can read?

Well, one more thing, I hope I posted this in the right place.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Amy

Yes, Rockbox speaks.

You can find the link to the manual in my signature.

Note:  Rockbox only works on the original 5th generation iPod.  It does not yet work on the newest iPod that was released about a month or so ago (the one that some have called the 5.5g).

Hi guys I just want to say “thanks for the help with the links u gave me”.
But, I don’t know where to begin?
I’m really new to computers and Ipod.
Let me just tell u I have windows xp home edition.
My Ipod is the 5th generation with window.
If, I understand Rockbox helps me to be able to read the menus.
I was wondering if someone can give me  a e-mail and help me>
Thanks a lot

Princessamy1962, I've merged your new topic with your original thread, as it is still the same subject and gives other readers the history...

You don't really say how far you have got with reading the linked material and/or attempting an installation. Also, you need to be able to tell if you have the very latest iPod (aka 5.5 generation), as Rockbox does not currently work on that machine.

This webpage from Apple will help you: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61688
