How do I display angle brackets in the forums ?
« on: November 03, 2006, 04:53:40 PM »
I did a patch for Replay Gain and to illustrate the change I wanted to put the format in a message but the angle brackets (and the text between them) disappear - you know the greater that, less than sysmbols.

I presume that this is protection against injecting HTML.

So is there a method for displaying them?
Rr a convention that we all should adopt instead?

Put it within a code block

Code: [Select]
First, type [code], then you can use < and > and whatever else you want.
Then finish it with "/code" in square brackets.
I couldn't do square brackets around it, because that would have closed it off.

< and > only seem to fail if there are no spaces after < and before >. But they do fail in a code block just as well.

I'm *SURE* I tried that and it didn't work ...

( final test )

Did that work ?

UPDATE : Llorean is right (no surprises there then!) you have to have a space ...
Interesting they all show in the preview, but only the last one in the forum - be warned.
