Organizing by 'track'
« on: November 08, 2006, 05:02:12 PM »
I was wondering if anyone had a solution for me concerning file organization within RockBox.  My hierarchy is set up as .../Music/Albums and .../Music/Artists.  In the 'Albums' file I would like to have each track in the individual folders arranged by their track number as they would appear on the cd.  When I copy a file from my computer to RockBox and 'arrange by track number', they show up arranged in windows, but go back to alphabetical order in RockBox.  Thanks in advance.

Simply name your files as:

01-Track Name 1.mp3
02-Track Name 2.mp3

etc etc

yes that would be one way to do...anyone else have another suggestion?  I was thinking about using the windows properties that has the track listing already written on the MP3.

By "windows properties" I can only assume you mean the ID3 tags.  You can use Tagcache in rockbox, and enable the browsing by tags, which can show tracks in tracknumber order.
