Media Players - is rockbox availible ?

No. Rockbox is not available for the PMP. But since, as you say, you want it for recording, why go for the PMP? It's bulky and meant mostly for video playback. Since it's discontinued, too I'd say if recording at high quality is your only concern, just go for the H1xx.

im after any 40gig + media player that will do High Quality Recording...
Ive been watching a few lately i was considering the Iriver H320 / H340
but now i found the
Iriver : PMP 120
ARCHOS AV500
ARCHOS AV700
Ubiquitous V43
are options because if im gonna spend the money i might as well get something that has a few more and better features like Video Recording and playback etc...
but im unsure of wat to get...
anyideas ?

Techybloke... head over to DAPreview and check out their forums for advice on PMPs. This definitely isn't the right place. Rockbox is very unlikely to ever support PMPs (well... not for a few years yet anyway).
