Doom controls?

My Doom controls aren't working the way I want them to.  I want to change my controls (using an iPod) to Up->Menu, Down->Weapon Change, Left->Previous, Right->Next, Select->Shoot, plus I already have the Doom scroll patch applied.  When I try to set these, they don't change.  Can somebody help me?

OK, I'll ask again.  Everytime I try to change a setting on Doombox, it won't save.  If I want to change the controls a certain way, they won't change.  If I want to mute the sound, it won't mute.  Why can't I change the settings?  I would very much like to be able to fix the controls so that I can change weapons.
