Iriver H120: Volume knob on remote skipping directories

(1/7) > >>

StigVig:
Hi

First of all I'd like to thank all the developers for making such a fine firmware! And then to the annoyance. I've been experiencing the same behaviour as mentionned in http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=4751.0, ie sometimes while trying to change the volume on the remote, the player skips to the next directory. My question is if there is a known workaround for this?

Thanks in advance

bonusbartus:
I've got the same problem a while back, I ordered a new remote and that fixed the problem, the cable was damaged near the plug....

check if you can see some damage there, try to bend the cable on a few pleces and try changing the volume then..

good luck ;)

StigVig:
Thanks for the response, even though it wasn't the response I was hoping for  ;) However I'm under the impression that it doesn't happen while running the original Iriver firmware. Hmm, I will run the Iriver firmware for the next few days and see if I encounter any anomalities in order to rule out a fawlty remote control.

Rincewind:
I also got this behaviour when I used my remote. I don't think it has something to do with the cable, I didn't use my remote much.
I haven't tested it with a recent build (I stopped using the remote when I got better headphones).

Llorean:
I've never gotten that behaviour. I've broken 3 remotes, and am currently on my fourth (the cables get snagged, I'm bad about that) but I've not had the problem.
