I tried to uninstall
« on: October 25, 2006, 09:28:17 PM »
Hey, I need help quickly.
I tried to uninstall by following instructions. I deleted the file like it said then the ipod dissapeared from my computer! I tried the run command but it says error and now my ipod turns on, goes to black apple screen, turns off and turns back on over and over again.
Please help, I fear the worst!

The uninstall instructions do not JUST say to delete a file.

Does it *just* show the Apple screen, or does it also show the Rockbox bootloader?

Also, to get your computer to see it, simply use the Menu+Play key combination to get into emergency disk mode as described in the "Recovering from a Crash" section of the IpodInstallation wiki page.

Hi, I know I followed what it said,
If you would like to go back to using the original Ipod software, then connect the Ipod
to your computer, and delete the rockbox.ipod file.
When I did that the ipod was not visible on my computer and it started going on and off.
It just shows the black apple screen and then turns on and off again

So, it doesn't show *any* of the Rockbox bootloader text?

Also, where are the instructions you followed from, exactly?

I did it! I did menu + play and then my computer found it so I finished off the installation instructions.
They were from the pdf.

Thanks for your help I cannot tell you how much it means to me!
