SOLVED -ipod photo color/bmp all messy

(1/2) > >>

Stephan:
Hi. I'm new to this forum and new to the ipod.
I've just bought a ipod photo and installed rockbox via linux.
I've used daily build 24.10.06 and also unzipped the daily-fonts of the same day.

I've already resetted/cleared the settings and tried different builds, even from september.

But the rockbox logo as well as the themes and color-plugins, for example bubbles, have a color clash.
In case of the rockbox logo this means, it's somewhat purple, blue, yellow-something. Rockbox itself seem to function normal.....

I've gone through the wiki, manual and used the search-function, but still don't see the solution. Has it sth to do with my ipod generation or firmware?

Thanks for your help,
Stephan

By, "via linux" do you mean that you followed the official Rockbox install instructions for installing from a linux machine, or do you mean you used the iPodLinux installer, or are using Loader2?

Stephan:
Good morning and cheers.

I used the instructions from the official manual. Compiling, extracting apple_os, joining apple_os with rockbox bootloader, diskdump back to the ipod.

The apple firmware is running fine, and as well is rockbox, except for the color-thing, so I thought it's no loader issue?

There is a point in the faq that suggests "to toggle full screen option, if rockbox looks funny which i don't know where to find.

Llorean:
That says Rockboy not Rockbox. It is not a typo.

So, you compiled your own bootloader? Why didn't you use the official one provided?

Stephan:
I used the official provided. I didn't compile the bootloader, i compiled ipod_fw. In other words: I followed the "rockbox-ipodcolor-20061023.pdf" manual, p.14-16 for linux users. And I don't use loader2.

I just uploaded some pictures to the ipod and they can't be displayed correctly as well.

Thanks & regards, Stephan
