max hard disk for AJR - which model do you recommnd?
(1/1)
softikuss:
I own 2 Archos Jukebox Recorder, one with 80GB harddisc the other one with an 120GBdisk, both from Samsung. I now need to upgrade the 80GB model to keep up with my growing collection. I know (read) about the 137 GB limit and I would like to know what HD (manufacturer and model) you would recommend in order to get max size and the best value for money? I cannot find 140 GB 2.5" and with 120GB I do not have the maximum space possible. 160 GB disks cost almost twice the price of a 120 gb model and 140 GB ones I cannot find on the market. What would you recommend?
scorche:
120 is going to be the largest you can get for value. Past that, they usually use perpendicular recording which costs much more (selling price). It is only a loss of 7 gigs really (depends on how you define a gig). Not that bad. I would only suggest getting a 160 if you can find one for really cheap or have a very good deal and don't mind missing out on a few gigs like I did.
