iPod 5g 30 gig bug?

(1/1)

prem1er:
I was wondering if anyone was having the same issue as me.  The last few versions of Rockbox (daily from 10/22 - 10/24) that I have been using have frozen on the 'now playing' screen if i forget to turn my 'hold' switch on.  Everything works fine if I remember to put the hold switch on.  I have also recently began using iPL loader 2.4 from the windows installer, but I'm not sure if the problem existed before that or not.  Thanks in advance.

Llorean:
So, you press "Play" to resume playback, or select a playlist or song, then immediately turn on Hold?

prem1er:
Sorry.  When I select a song, and leave it on the 'now playing' screen and I don't switch on 'hold' it continues playing the song, but my buttons freeze and the screen freezes (including eq. meters and song remaining countdown).

Petmetroid:
I had this problem before, although I didn't know about the hold switch.  It freezes after playing a song for about ten seconds, huh?
Reinstal Rockbox: that means replace AT LEAST the iPod file and the two original files inside the .rockbox folder.  Delete all of the extra files in the .rockbox folder (eg. cache files).  You might not have to replace any other files, but if the problem still occures, you prolly need to.  And again, if the problem STILL occures, try reinstalling the bootloader.
The problem may have occured by messing with the Rockbox files, thus it just got screwed up.  Hope this helps.

If this fixes it, then you could also be running into an incompatability with some older data or configuration with a newer build. I've been updating every so often (last time was yesterday) and haven't run into this problem at all on my 30gb 5g.
