Problem Rewding Long Files

(1/1)

droctii:
I had posted this in Feb. this year but it got archive. I completely forgot about it until tonight when I was listening to another audiobook (+4 hrs long) and realized that I was getting the same problem. Basically, I encounter consistent problems rewinding when I get near 1hr or lateron these files. Also, when loading previous bookmarks (around 1hr or later) the time shown on the player may be wrong. Not sure if those two are related in anyway.

Please see this thread which describes it in more detail. I have used the work around suggested (pause then rewind) to some effect, but that is less than ideal. Does anyone know what is going on?

There was a fix to improve seeking in vbr mp3's couple of days ago. Try a new build and see if it helps.

droctii:
As per your suggestion, I loaded CVS 061026 and still no rewind function without pausing first.

More disturbing (maybe requires it's own thread) but I see that when I load my bookmarks, the time code for elapsed time shows ONLY the time elapsed FROM the bookmark and not the overall time. So the result is that both the time left and the time elapsed are incorrect.

I have not noticed this on small mp3 audiobooks (like those around 2hrs).

Can anyone confirm this?

This bug is already on the tracker. Please see FS #6068. If you can find more files with this problem please add information about them (codec, VBR/CBR, bitrate, samplerate, channels, tags etc.) to the tracker. Which player do you use?

droctii:
ok I will try to add as much info as I can, when I can. I am using the iriver H120.

I will say this... the bookmarking  for long files with any hope of using the rewind is pretty crap at this point. Almost useless because it resets to zero when loaded. I will look at the link when I have more time. Thanks
