H120: problem in installing RB (HELP!!!)

Hi all,
I had my H120 returned from iRiver technical assistance (there was a broken line port), and then I tried to install RB on it, following exactly all steps reported in RB web site.
I patched the last iRiver official release (1.66 (eu)) and installed the daily RB one.
But when I turn on the player always boot the iRiver logo and release, sometimes after many click of ON button.
Before I send the player to iRiver, this behavior never happened.
What could be the problem? Can anyone help me?

Does the Rockbox boot loader screen appear before the iriver logo shows up? Could you please write down the boot loader messages (someone suggested that a digital camera is useful for capturing the quick messages).

Do you really have the rockbox.iriver file in the root directory of the player?

Always start the iRiver software, sometimes after many seconds and after many ON button pression. No messagges nor logos appears before iRiver logo and both .rockbox dir and rockbox.iriver are on disk.
I tried with 1.65e too with the same results.

Maybe the iRiver assistance had changed some circuitry and that the new ones are not compatible with actual RB?

This is very strange  

1. Could you please compare the patched firmware MD5 checksum with these values?

2. When you installed the patched version of 1.65 did the iriver firmware version really change from 1.66 to 1.65.

The answer to your question:
1 - yes, the sum are the same
2 - yes

I also fully formatted the disk from Windows.

The RB message loader never appear; always start the iRiver splash screen, the most of time after many seconds, like if it had some difficulties to start.

I can live also witthout RB but I'd like to know why....

When you formatted in Windows, did you use FAT32 or NTFS?  You should use FAT32.

There are issues with installing Rockbox on a small number of H120s, most of which were sold by outletmp3.com.  I think Linus is looking into this.

The hard drive content should not influence the appearance of the Rockbox boot loader messages. They should even appear when you dismount the drive from the player.

The new players referred to as H120D or H140D are known to have problems with Rockbox but I have never heard of problems with the boot loader. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Fagior, do you think that iriver replaced the whole player or the whole printed circuit board inside?

The problem I had on my player was about the headphone out; I think is very probable iRiver assistance changed the whole mainboard rather doing a very difficult manual soldering!
Evidently on the new one there's something different that inhibits the RB boot loader.
I am thinking to ask directly to iRiver about.
Do you think is it a good idea?
Do you think will this problem never been resolved?
