Scrapping the ITunes file format?
« on: October 24, 2006, 11:46:00 AM »
Perhaps a dumb question, but I'm considering dumping my ipod_control\music folder, and reload my mp3's directly to the ipod root directory (enabling me to use file view and hopefully actually see what songs included-as opposed to "f24" )

If I do this, and then later choose to go back to the ipod firmware, will my songs all be unreadable? my theory is yes, but I wasn't sure.

They'll be unreadable by the iPod firmware, unless you scrap them again and re-use iTunes to sync them.e
