rockbox won't load

so for some wierd reason rockbox won't load on my 5G iPod video. heres what i have in the root of my video: rockbox.ipod, .rockbox, and loader. i also have the contacts notes and calender stuff that came with the iPod.

if anyone knows what to do please help and thanks for any help and all!!

Have you installed the bootloader?

Is your iPod a 5.5G (i.e. late 2006)? If so Rockbox will not yet work.

Loader 2 shouldn't be a file on the root of your iPod. You have to actually install it. You only said that there was a file there called 'loader'

We don't support loader2 here as it is not our software. I suggest you either ask where you acquired it, or if you'd like to install Rockbox the official way, simply follow the instructions you can find in our manual or on the IpodInstallation wiki page.

thanks for the help but i the last time i installed rockbox im almost 100% sure that i didn't use the manual......... i just copy and pasted the files into the root of my iPod and used the loader .....how i did that i don't even know and it worked somehow.

Sure.  But as Llorean said it is not Rockbox software.  That is an iPodLinux bootloader so you should ask them about installation of their bootloader at their site.

You could use "Rockbox installer X" to install iPodloader 2.4/  normal bootloader with rockbox.
