iPod nano shutdown = reboot ?

superbeppe:
i'm using cvs-061021 on my ipod nano (1st gen)
i've problems with turning it off:

when i hold the play button for 5 seconds, it reports 'shutting down' then the screen turns black, the apple logo appears and it boots again in rockbox. so instead turning off it reboots :S

is this normal? how do i turn off my ipod nano?

Chronon:
I have not experienced this with my nano.  You could try a different build and see if the problem persists.

ok, i figured out the problem was with the ipod itself, not the rockbox software. i returned it to the shop and got a new one, this time it's works like a charm...

Any idea what kind of problem it was with the first ipod?  I just got one off of eBay (for the express purpose of installing Rockbox on it), and I'm getting the same problem: never shuts down, always reboots.  Even the auto-off causes a reboot.

I did notice that when booted into Apple firmware, holding a long play/pause won't make it go to standby either, but will show a "Charged" screen...

Since I got it off of eBay, I'm not sure what my repair options are.

Thanks for any help

Does it constantly detect that a charger is plugged in (even when nothing is plugged in)?
