Audio stopping when scrolling.

When music is playing, and I'm scrolling through Artists/Songs/Whatever, my song will stop playing until I stop scrolling. It seems like I'm scrolling faster than my HD can keep up with while playing music, so it stops it completely.

I'm not using any EQ settings, and I'm using the latest daily build on a 5g iPod.

Are you using a WPS with peakmeters or any CPU intensive graphics?

Nothing other than different text, and a non-animated WPS.

I am guessing that the OP is using a 5G iPod. I am also using a 5G iPod, and with a bleeding edge build from about 1 hour ago, I am getting the same problem.

Fast scrolling causes music playback to stop.

It's a known issue with unicode fonts (or at least fonts that are bigger than the font buffer)
I have been working on a patch to make the font buffer size configurable from the menu, but don't think that many users would know what to do with this setting.
Perhaps there are ways to speed up text rendering for cached fonts.

yippie... how's the progress going on with this patch, markun? since unicode exist in rockbox,i'm eagerly waiting for someone, doing a patch like this.. because it's so annoying when rockbox everytime has to spin up the disc, just to load the font..

well, this hasnt been occuring to me since I upgraded to a build from November.
Im using a iRiver H320 with the iPodColorMax WPS, which is static except for the progress bar.

Anyhow, When I hit NAVI and scroll through the list of files i get those music gaps too. That definetely didnt happen with the prior build.
