replacement battery and replacement HD for iriver H140
polluxx2006:
hello people!
does anybody know which battery
is suitable for the iriver H140 to get
a higher capacity and which works fine
with the hardware and rockbox?
plus, is it possible to replace the original
drive with a 80GB or 60GB toshiba hard drive?
again, will this work with rockbox?
greets
polluxx
Mikerman:
Best source for info. on this: the misticriver.net forums (do a search under them) and the Wiki for the player, which points to replacement parts and model numbers.
And yes, it's possible to replace the hard drive, and the new drive will work fine with Rockbox (once it's loaded on it). That's why I now have an iHP-160.
;)

As mikerman says, look at this page:
http://www.misticriver.net/showthread.php?t=18911
and this page:

I have a 60gb hardrive and a 2200 mAh battery in my H140, and I obviously get more space and 25hrs plus runtime with rockbox.

Hi all
New here, though may be recognised from other sites (mistic river, head-fi, freeland)
This question is related to this oldish post (I think), but if the mods think not, please put it where it should go (not the bin, thanks).
One of those misticriver links was dead, so here goes...
I kow the HD can be updated in a h340 (to 60 or 80), and know how to do it (roughly) and what drive I would need, my question is mainly to do with Rockbox....
Would the functionality of said upgrade (60 or 80) be on par with the current state of Rockbox on h430? Or would the 60 gig be like the Apple's state of play and the 80 gig, undoable, as it is currently on the Apple?
I have no clue (as you can see) whether or not it's the hardware that's causing the Apple's to be not as "fully-functional" (as can be) as the iriver's OR if it's those particular hdd capacities.
ANY help will be gratefully accpeted and acted upon.
Many thanks all.
Llorean:
It's only the 80gb iPod 5.5G that has problems, due to hardware aspects unique to that single player. Rockbox does not work on it at all.
If you purchase a 60/80gb drive for your H300 all should be well.
