USB(?): Can't Read iPod5G

I'm not sure if this is a USB plug issue or a rockbox software issue or whatever, but when i plug in my ipod it takes about 1-2 minutes to recognize my ipod (it freezes my computer) which is one problem. The other problem is most of the time it doesn't recognize it, it will make the *ding* noise but it doesn't show it has a drive in my computer....

Any help on fixing this? Thanks in advance.

what kind of OS do you use, windows i presume.

Here it takes about 20 second to recognize my ipod 5g, when i plug in my ipod my conputer makes the sound that a new device is connected.

When i do this under linux, it works within 2 secs.

so i think it's just Windows

Thats not the problem I'm talking about(though that also gets annoying), my problem is that it wont read it after the 20 seconds it up alot of the time so i have to sit there for about 10 minutes getting it to read the ipod. :|

i think it's a windows problem, i've reinstalled windows 1day ago, and now it detects ipod immedietly.  try deleting the ipod while connected from 'device manager' after replug the ipod into usb
