Ipod won't mount after Rockbox is installed, impossible to uninstall it
Birdoftruth:
I have a 4th gen, my Ipod will not mount on my PC now that Rockbox is installed, no matter if I revert to olf Ipod firmware or rockbox, so I cannot uninstall it since ipod updater will not read it. what happens is I plug it in, and I just keep seeing the to arrows on the ipod going around every 5 seconds, the autoplay window in XP will appear 3 minutes later for about 30 seconds, go away, and it is still trying to mount itself. When I go into My computer it is very slow because G:/ is the Ipod and it is trying to mount. Does Rockbox need awhile to connect for the first time? all I want to do is delete it now and I can't because it won't read it. I need help thanks

We use Apple's disc mode to connect to the computer, so rockbox has nothing to do with it.
That said, have you tried booting directly into disc mode and plugging it in?
Birdoftruth:
yea, and odd thing is, is when I go into my Device Manager, it has it up there under mass storage device, and then at the bottom under USB, I click properties and it has Ipod player (though it is not listed on the main names, I got to guess which usb drive it was and click properties and it said).
Will safe mode help?
Update: I have Xplay and i clicked restore Ipod, it asked for it, after the computer kept reading my ipod it finally got past that little notice box asking for it, but froze the program. Basically it freezes anything associated with the Ipod on my comp
L:
Try ending the IPODService.exe in your Process Manager

Also, make sure that you disable the option in Itunes that brings up Itunes everytime you plug in the Ipod and make sure that the option is enabled that will let the Ipod come up as a drive letter (don't ask me where these are or even what the real name for the options are...I have never used Itunes and don't know)
The solution by L can work as well, but it is a "dirtier option" (but can be the only thing that works)
