Audio skips every 3-4 seconds + mix not working

I have found if you want to use the software EQ without the skipping, you can start the song and then hit the UP part of the dial (IPod Video)that brings you to the quick change screen,where you change file settings, repeat,etc by hitting down left or right and leave it on that screen and it wont skip... go figure...I have to go back to the play screen to change songs, FF/RW, but that sure beats skipping!

Are you using a WPS with peakmeters?  

Newborn:
H10 skipping every 4-5 secs, (without peakmeters) the HDD is buffering very frequently.
after tuning off the EQ problem is gone. (((((((
