plugin idea: flv playback

i would love to see someone create a plugin for flv (flash video) playback for rockbox. it would be great to put some of these youtube vids on an H10 20g. im sure it would become a popular plugin because if you use mozilla firefox, there is a videodownloader extension that lets you save flv vids from popular sites. please tell me this is in the works, if not... it should be.

The ideas can be discussed, yes. The Feature Request itself should be posted on the Feature Request tracker.

Notice that I *wrote* the sticky. Perhaps the wording is slightly vague, but the intent is for requests to be posted to the feature requests tracker, but discussion of them is allowed here. I notice also that you only selectively quoted the sticky.

indeed. i didn't feel like signing up for the bugtracker/feature request system.. but i guess i'll post it there too.

Basically, when a programmer interested in Rockbox is thinking "I'd like to help out, but I can't think of anything to do" we point them at the Feature Request and Bug trackers.

If you post here, it will only get seen by forum members. The absolute VAST majority of them are users, who will do little more than say "Yeah, that's a really good idea, but I lack the skill to work on it" so the best hope of having anything happening is to register and put it in the proper place. It's far from guaranteed, but it does help a little.

I've been using http://www.freewarefiles.com/program_5_239_23255.html to dl flv's and then encoding them to play on mpegplayer.

I use Riva FLV encoder to encode FLVs to Mpeg, etc. Works beautifuly, ive converted quite a few videos already with no problem. And its fee!

there is a program that download and converts auto youtube vids arestube u can convert it also to ipod format and impot it to itunes...it converts in mpeg and i love it.... try it.....

That works really well and it can convert almost anything into anything.
