The forums is NOT the place for feature requests, anyway.

And unless he owns those games, you shouldn't be talking about those type of activities on this board.

What type of activities?  He was merely saying that it was possible to do so through another plugin that we have.  We have rules against discussing how to obtain illegal ROMs or asking for them, but he was doing nothing of the kind.  Just saying that there are other ways than just programming or porting an existing C tennis game.

...and I was just about to say that; it's quite irritating. It would be preferable to have it as a part of your proper signature.

Heh...I think we already went over this in IRC when he went on his useless post spree a couple months back.  See http://www.rockbox.org/irc/rockbox-20060728.txt at about 03.03.20 on.

Regardless, the topic of this thread is not "Bash BigMac Here!".  So if you could, please continue this conversation in PMs.  ;)

LOL
"I am on a roll with ideas!"

Aren't we all?

How about a mixrowave using modualtion of the FM radio reciever? What about a stud detector? Rave stick by flashing the X5 LED charge light? Physics simulator?

I still think that for units with both a line in and a line out, the clear solution is to create a software modem or custom networking system using the line-ins and line-outs of an arbitrary amount of units to create a basic networking system, perhaps for multiplayer gaming. :-P

A frequency-hopping audio modulation technique with traffic control performed by the "master" DAP could succeed in allowing 4 or more players to connect to an active audio "hub" of sorts, allowing that game of mixed doubled tennis I have always dreamed of.

yeah.

Maybe the ring topology would be more suitable because you would not need any hub - just 3.5 mm jack to 3.5 mm jack cables.

IMHO controling media acces of more than two devices is easier in the ring topology.

IMHO spread spectrum techniques (like frequency-hopping) are a big overkill with a little added value even in the hub topology. I think for the beginning it would be more suitable to use some simple modulation just in the time domain which is much less CPU intensive.

I think that the problem with a ring will be latency.
Milti-player tennis will become very difficult with a lag between you moving the joystick (whatever) and your piece moving.

I was just going to suggest that this is highly unlikely to ever happen but with the inventiveness and dogged determination to do stuff just for the challenge shown by the Rockbox team, I think it's highly likely - at least for a two player tennis anyway...
