Can't figure out ZXbox Help!

I can't seem to get any of my zx spectrum games to work on 5g ipod. I tried searching, but I couldn't find anything. Most of them work for about a second then I don't know what to do after that. I press buttons but nothing happens! Most of the files are tzx 's. Do i need a dif file type, am i doing in wrong, or does it only work for a few games? Plz help.

On iPods the main menu should be invoked by Hold switch/button or whatever it is on iPod.

Most tzx files do not work for me, mainly the ones from 1984 and newer with special loaders. There are some games which work:

the best way of dealing with specific tap/tzx is loading in emu on PC and dumping a z80/sna snapshot for loading in zxbox.

well... all tapes should work ... its just that loading may stop after loading some blocks of data and you may need to press "play tape" so that it would play further ....

but the easiest way is using snapshots

I have one ferature suggestion: It would be very useful if there is an indicator on the screen (or at least in the menu) showing whether the tape is running.

  i THOUGHT i finally got elite working... loads up with a nice menu and moving stuff... but the buttons do nothing! Any idea why? (sna)

i think you should definitely read ZXBox's wiki page

though i don't think elite is the game which would be enjoyable on ZXBox (cause i think it uses much keys for controlling)

Thought I'd try this out, so I followed your steps but the game opens I see it playing and a counter in the left corner keeps switching numbers. The keys don't respond though besides hold. This is on an ipod 5g.

in the menus or in the game?

In the game. I followed the steps you told me (open in emu, save as snapshot, put on ipod). Now I go to play it and I see all the chickens moving after me(playing Chuckie Egg), but I can't move the farmer. All the buttons are unnresponsive except hold.

you should set "map to kempston" to "no" so that player buttons would be assigned to keyboard buttons. and set buttons appropriate for chuckie.
