Accident unplug ipod when rockbox was plugged in usb
« on: October 09, 2006, 09:29:13 PM »
I accidently unplug my ipod from the computer when it was playing music using windows media player.
I have a 60 gb video ipod and the problem is that now whenever I go under a music folder and try to play a mp3, it gives me a Blank screen with the background theme. It won't display any of my mp3s. What should I do without  having to lose all of my mp3s stored in rockbox?

what gives you a blank screen, Rockbox? Try running chkdsk /f on the Ipod drive.

Well, it's not "blank" it just doesn't display the "mp3" or "play it" it just shows the background of my ipod background.

Are you sure the file view is set to something appropriate? Check that it's set to "Music" or "All"

When you plug it into the computer again, do you have all files on the drive still?

N/m it's working once again. I just let the battery run out and recharged it.

I did this on my iAudio X5. I whent out of battery when transfering like 40 Gig of data to the device.

I solved it the hard way  :P

I never managed to do a fsck since there where like some thousand problems. I created a new filesystem on the device. On the iAudio X5 it works fine with a FAT-32 filesystem. I did this in Linux.

Nowdays I never connect to the computer without external source of power attached  ;)
