Archos 504?

Hi, I have bought an Archos 504 160GB MP3 player. In any case as ever with Archos I am disappointed at the lack of codec support.

Is there any possibility that Rockbox will ever be ported to the 504/604 line, or is this a completely forlorn hope?

Also just out of curiosity, I tried looking at the original firmware for the 504 in a hex editor. But as I have no programming experience, it made no sense at all to me. If Roxbox can't be installed on this device, does anyone with any experience of these matters think that it would be feasible to add support for some CODECs to the existing firmware?

I think it's more likely to get a MediOS port (http://www.archopen.org) for your player than rockbox.
