Making Playlists...

<< < (4/4)

rYugen:
sorry if the question is out of place here but is there a possibility to create playlists out of ID3 Tags?...because when you used to put songs onto your 60 gig gen 5 ipod and you've got about 4000 titles on it you don't really want to extract them all again to put em onto your player in folders.

thanks for any answers in advance

Febs:
Use the Tag Cache.

rYugen:
via tag cache i'm only able to browse music with "album";"interpret" etc.

i use playlists for example "music for going for a jog" and "music for playin video games" just like that... and then i pick some songs and put them into a playlist in itunes....thats how it used to work...

so there's no possibility to do it like that in rockbox?

bascule:
If I understand you correctly, you are using iTunes to transfer music to your iPod, yes?

If so, you have to use the Tag Cache to view your collection, because iTunes scrambles the folder and filenames.

Once Tag Cache is up and running, you can use the dynamic playlisting or the Playlist Catalog from the Tag Cache browser to make On The Fly (OTF) playlists.

EDIT: Some info in the manual here and here

rYugen:
thanks...

just forgot about that ;D
