Philips HDD1620
ivanisevic82:
Hi! Sorry for my english, I hope you understand me!
I saw this site this morning for the first time, it is wonderful!
I dream for a lot of time to change or modify the firmware or my mp3 player...I love modding in general...
I don't know if this is the right section of the forum, if not, sorry.
My question is about a very good and pretty player, Philips HDD1620 (or similar model -hdd1600; hdd1420; hdd1400).
Here is the link for the official site :
http://www.consumer.philips.com/consumer/catalog/product.jsp?language=en&country=GB&catalogType=CONSUMER&productId=HDD1620_05_GB_CONSUMER
So, my english is not so good, and I saw this link, it means that you can't help me to do something with this player if I'm not able to start?

Thank you, bye!
Yotto:
Your English is better than many of the people who don't apologize, so don't worry about that!
This is also not the correct forum. The correct forum to post in is the "New Ports" forum under "Rockbox Development."
And, finally (and sadly, for you) a port to a new mp3 player takes one person with 2 things: A desire to have Rockbox on that player and the ability to do most if not all of the work. That's the way open source works. If you want it, you either do it yourself or wait for someone else to do it (or do what I did, buy an mp3 player that runs it)
I hope you can get Rockbox on your player, both for you (Rockbox is great!) and for Rockbox (more players = more users). However, as I've never seen this player before, I suspect it's fairly small on the market share, so it's fairly likely that you are the only one, for a while at least, who will want this port. So I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that if you don't do it, it won't get done.
Bagder:
Is this thing using the mi4 file format for firmware (updates) ?
markun:
Yes, another mi4 file:

Mad Cow:
Seems to be very similar to the H10. (Same screen specs, probably same HDD, voice recording, mi4 firmware, etc.)
