« on: October 01, 2006, 02:31:39 AM »
Hi, I'm having mostly ogg vorbis and a few MP3 on my iAudio X5 and would like to normalize all my songs so they all sound the same.Anyone knows a good program that does that?

Foobar2000 does that, if you by normalization mean applying ReplayGain. VorbisGain can handle your Vorbis files.

You really don't want to normalise - take it from someone who has already made that mistake ...

Use replay gain - it will achieve the desired effect for when you are random shuffling without mucking up album play.  It works by analysing the audio and writing a tag that gives a suggestion to the playback tool (Rockbox, Winamp, etc), it leaves the actual audio un-modified.

lots of info at http://www.replaygain.org/
