I am not sure what is causing this so I posted in here and in the 'Unsupported Build' section, but my iPod is randomly turning on, starting at the bootloader, and then going into apple firmware.  Anyone have this happen to them?  And if so what build are you using?  Thanks.

1) This is not related to the act of installing or removing the software.
2) If you haven't verified that it happens in an official build, you shouldn't be posting it anywhere outside of the unsupported builds section.
3) You shouldn't be posting the same question in multiple places.

If it is powering itself on, AND booting into Apple firmware I would suspect a broken/stuck "Menu" button.
