Easy 'safely remove hardware' shortcut?

--Off topic warning-- (shouldn't there be a forum for these...?)
I just realized that WinAmp made it possible for me to quickly and easily eject my nano (which it recognises as a regular ipod) by assigning a global hotkey to 'eject portable player'. Which I think is a brilliant idea... only I don't always have WinAmp running. Does anyone know if there is another way to do this? Some little script or other....?
Thanks and apologies for the off-topic-topic... Just thought people here might know....
Llorean:
The reason there's *not* an off-topic forum is that there aren't supposed to be off-topic posts. This is the Rockbox forum. There are many *many* places on the internet for discussing iPods, various other digital audio players, and winamp, and clearly such questions/discussions fit there better and are more likely to get meaningful responses.

I know I shouldn't encourage this... but this is a problem that's been bothering me for a while. Thanks to this poorly placed post, I did a quick google search, and turned up the following two links:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/165721/en-us
http://mikeage.net/2006/09/27/ejecting-removable-media-from-the-command-prompt/
Ok, the second is mine that I just wrote. I suppose I can be allowed a little self-promotion, since I am providing a feature.
Actually, I think this might be rockbox related, at least as a side. Since many of us transfer files directly in windows explorer, and I usually do it from the command line, this is relevant as a helpful tip for easy use of rockbox, even if it's not rockbox related per se.
Or maybe I'm just rationalizing.
Yotto:
Nice proram, mike. I may actually use that on the windows machine I sometimes use, though I'll probably rename it to umount :D
As to the topic's justification for being here, I don't know. It seems, to me, Rockbox related *enough* but I'm no expert. I could see all the other suggested forums having the same response. "This isn't a problem with winamp, as it does what you want."
Llorean:
Yes, but beside winamp there's also a variety of forums just relating to the iPod, such as iLounge, or the iRiver players (Misticriver) or just digital audio devices in general. The internet is full of places for non-Rockbox discussion.
Which is why there's not an "Off Topic" forum here.
