Crossfeed default settings
« on: September 26, 2006, 09:25:58 PM »
What are the initial crossfeed settings, namely
- Direct Gain;
- Cross Gain;
- High Frequency Attenuation;
- High Frequency Cutoff?

After messing with the initial settings (and not having taken note of them) I'd like to go back (and start over).

One easy way to find out:
Write a config file.
Choose to reset settings.
Write another config file. There you have a list of default settings.
Load the first config file.
Set crossfeed to whatever the settings are in the second one.

To find the default values for crossfeed or, better, to find the values that suits the best to you ears and headphones, go to :
http://www.ohl.to/audio-tools-and-thoughts/audio-softwares-and-vst-plugins/crossfeed-and-eq-for-headphones/
It's a bit technical but I'm sure that it will help you. There is no other practical way to adjust crossfeed. You can also use this software to find your best EQ settings.

Many thanks jlo and Llorean.

Some additional data on the important subject of crossfeed for headphone listening may be found at:

- http://bs2b.sourceforge.net/bs2b.html - An article with many additional references

- http://bs2b.sourceforge.net/ - A stereo to binaural plugin for foobar2000 (the best Windows player by far, which is available at http://foobar2000.org)
