where do i unzip the actuall rockbox files

To the root of the device.  The top level.

Also, it is not a good thing or even remotely appreciated to feel the need to PM the people that are currently online just because someone didn't answer your question within 4 minutes.  Not sure if you just PMed the colored names or not, but do not do it again.  You question will be answered in time.  Have some patience.

Also, installation is explained in the manual. Why don't you just look there? The manual is written for some reason ...
