Charging DC: What's the plug size?

(1/2) > >>

Hi all,

after checking the hardware descriptions I still wonder about the plug size here.

iriver names 5 V / 2000 mA for the H100/H300. I guess it's one of the hollow DC plugs. But I'd like to write down the real size, such as 4 x 1.5 mm...

What's the English name of those low voltage DC plugs?

edit: this thread has been moved here by one of the admins. It was in the iriver area before - thus the main focus of the question was on iriver's DC plugs

Sorry, I don't have now the charger.
I will only remember that i'ts wery important to have the right polarity in the plug, or you will "brick" your player.
You can read on the player: + inside,  -  outside.
Yes, the plug is "one of the hollow"; it's the same dimension that have many nokia phone (but nokia charger hawe tha WRONG polarity) or portatile Lacie external HD.

Genre9mp3:
The plug size differs between H100 and H300

Here are the specifications:

H100 Series:
    * DC power plug: 3mm x 1.35mm
    * polarity: -(+
    * voltage: 5v max
    * amps: 2 amp max

H300 Series:
    * DC power plug: 4mm (or longer) x 1.7mm
    * polarity: -(+
    * voltage: 5v max
    * amps: 2 amp max

Thanks!

I'm surprised that there's a difference between H100 and H300 since iriver sells the same charger for both:
http://shop.iriver.co.kr/product/product_info_frm.asp?prdtCode=479&LcatCode=005000000000#

However, there's a different charger for the H10, as well as for PMP and for iMP-1100. All those devices are 5V/2A.

I was also suprised, and disapointed when I bought an H320 for myself and kindly let my wife have my used H120.  I didn't expect to have to carry both power adaptors ...

I don't know about the iRiver site but the H320 charger plug definately won't fit an H120 - to be honest I haven't tried the other way round.
