<Untagged> IPOD 5G
nugget:
All of my songs after the one starting with 99 so all the number ones and some text at the top are visible but like about 2400+ songs come up with untagged. I have done auto update intialize update in the tag cache menu and have set directory to ID3tag and still no luck. Itunes is screwed for me since version 7 so there is nothing in my library and i cannot add songs to it. I copied a folder called music which has all my music in it and albums which are in folders. I cant create a playlist and it seems to be draining my battery alot too. Also in the tagcache bit in the debug section it went through about 3515 songs/files even though i only have like less than 3000 songs. Also

Please take some time to re-write your post to clearly describe your problem, and we will do what we can to help you. Among other things:
* Your post ends with the word "Also" so it does not appear to be complete.
* You don't identify the types of files you are talking about (mp3, FLAC, etc.).
* You don't identify what type of tags they have (ID3v1, ID3v2, etc.).
* You say "it" keeps draining your battery "alot," but you don't identify what "it" is or what you mean by "alot."
* You say that you can't create a playlist, but you don't say whether you are having trouble creating a playlist within Rockbox or in iTunes, and you don't explain what you have done to try to create a playlist and what problems you had in doing so.

Sorry it was like 3 am ;D
Um the majority of files are mp3 with some m4a and wma.
TBH i dno exactly what types of tags they are.
I did an intialize cache and it went through about 3500 files and then after 5 mins of use a fully charged battery died(i dont really have a problem with this as i know its in developmental stage).
I cant build a library in itunes and also when i do create playlist it does creating root,m3u and then when its done i hit view playlist and nothing happens.
Also as a side note whats the best way to put music on the ipod so its easy to use with rockbox. Is foobar good or just itunes or copying the music folder on?
Yotto:
As to most of your questions, I don't know the answer, but the single best way I know of to copy music onto a rockboxed iPod is the dos COPY command, or perhaps Drag/Drop in Explorer.

Please, please, please, take a look at our posting guidelines, and write complete words in your posts.
Are you certain that your files are tagged at all? You might want to try a tagging program like mp3tag or Tag and Rename to check.

This is not characteristic of Rockbox. My 5G lasts something like 7 hours on a full charge. I suspect that your battery was not actually charged to begin with.

"View playlist" views the current dynamic playlist. So, if you have no music playing, it won't show you anything. If you navigate to the root directory and select the root.m3u playlist that was created, Rockbox will start playing that playlist, and then "view playlist" will show you the songs in the playlist. (You'll need to be in the File Browser to do this rather than the Tag Cache browser.

Different people have different preferences, but I like to just drag and drop.
