Why can't I play Unreal Tournament 2004 on my iPod?  Linux does it.

Rockbox <> Linux.

Can you implement proper audio playback for video?

If you aren't capable of doing it, and you aren't willing to learn, and you're the one complaining about it, that means we get to blame you for saying it needs to be done and then not doing it, right?

I think Llorean's point is that when somebody who knows enough to do it, has enough time, and thinks doing it is more important than anything else they can think of doing, it will get done.

Until then, it wont.

That is the downside of an opensource program put together by volunteers. The upside is that these guys have produced better firmware, IMO, than all the paid guys put together.

But if you are unsatisfied, they will refund all the money you paid them for Rockbox ;)

iPodMan really dropped the ball on this one.

Besides, Linux only plays uncompressed videos @ 700 Mb for 20 minutes. Whereas in Rockbox, it's 65 Mb for 20 minutes. Same quality ^^

And IMO, there's no doubt that audio will be supported sooner or later.

Learn to code ?  ;D

Well, I guess that if you don't know how to code you can't really help with mpegviewer, but you can still contribute by reporting bugs, creating themes, etc.
