I have one of thoes wall plugs that I plug in to my wall that I plug my USB in to so I can charge it on the go. Last night I noticed when I plugged it in rockbox was reading it as a USB Computer connection and thrus rebooted in to iPod firmwear. After that, the iPod rebooted back to rockbox and started all over again. Is there a way to stop this loop? Because Im sure its not good for the health of my iPod

Krellion:
Fix: Press and hold the Menu button when plugging the charger into the iPod. Best to do this when Rockbox is already running.

Rockbox detects a USB connection via the power connection. When it detects this, it automatically reboots the iPod into the built-in disk mode. Disk mode then detects that there is no PC connection on the other end and thus reboots the iPod, loading Rockbox again. This repeats over and over.

There have been several threads posted about this, but they might've been hidden with the forum re-org.  :)

I have done as Krellion has suggested, but think my iPod then charges very slowly. I now charge almost exclusively with USB. When I was caught out, I booted to stock firmware to charge.

Krellion:
Since Rockbox doesn't have proper USB support yet, it is unable to request the maximum 500mA that the USB standard allows and is stuck with the default 100mA. So the iPod will charge slower with Rockbox running than with the original firmware.

Another option would be to charge via the FireWire connection (newer iPods only support charging with FW and not a data connection), which would provide more power and also bypass the reboot-loop problem.

I thought the wall charger was only firewire. That's how mine came with my 4G iPod.
