it didnt work at all? or it only recognized 256 songs?
It didn't work at all. The ipod just kept spinning, but nothing happened.
I waited for about half an hour... and then decided that probably it will not work. Roll Eyes
I tried something similar using a JVC mini stereo system with USB host.
I connected an Iriver H140 and the machine analysed it for 15 minutes before
playing the first song. Navigation was only by song number - pretty useless.
I'd not use something like this in the car with any hard disc based player:
Normally, they do not spin down the hard disc, so they will drain the batteries
very fast. Also I do not feel safe if the HD spins all the time while driving.
USB-Host might be useful together with the 1 and 2 GB Ipod nano. I'd not use
it with any other Rockbox Ipod.
BTW, there are some JVC car radios that offer a line in on the front panel.
If my current car radio cassette player breaks down, I'm going to get one of those.
