trouble installing on 3g Ipod
« on: September 18, 2006, 02:32:43 PM »
hey,

i tryed to install rockbox on my ipod and it all went very well, until point "G - Testing" ( Referring tohttp:// http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/IpodInstallation#Rockbox_works_only_on_FAT32_form ), there wasnt any blue light or anything - just a folder and "go to apple ipod support". Rebooting / resetting / reinstall didnt work either.

hope u guys can give me some help :<

Sounds like  you don't have the bootloader installed.  Try starting over at step b.

Starting over at A only made things worse. Which is *why* he said to start over at B. Please, sometimes it's better to actually follow the directions you're given after asking for help.

You're now going to need to restore an original firmware to your iPod BEFORE trying again.  This can be done with the apple updater / restore tool, but you may want to back up the music on your iPod if you choose to use the restore function of it.
