Llorean:
Well, I didn't know that there was more than one Iaudiophile forum. I thought that there was simply one site. Forums is also the plural of forum, at least in English according to the resources I have. Meanwhile, I find no reference to the word fora. So, references on that would be welcome.

You may notice though, that I used it in the singular.

afruff23:
It's latin. If you search "fora" on wikipedia, then it redirects to "forum". Anyways, who cares?

Forums has recently become accepted. As will many new words. But it is still a bastardisation of the latin.

Llorean:
Bastardization of Latin or not, forums is equally valid. And while I've never seen "fora" before, I'll accept it as valid. I've especially not seen it used in the context of internet forums. This becomes especially valid when it is concidered that words like "mouse" are considered to be pluralized differently in the context of computers (though in this case it can be mouses or mice).

Either way, I'm not wrong in that "Forums" is a valid use, but neither is he. As long as machine translation works with fora, it's fine. I *was* wrong however in my thought that "fora" was improper. So, I apologize for that.

I'll allow it, but my research comes across this:

The English plural forums is preferred to the Latin plural fora in normal English usage.
    * Ref: Modern English Usage, 2nd Edition, ed. Sir Ernest Gowers, Oxford 1968 (article '-um', p.658).

So, clearly it can be argued either way.

The point is, these forums must try to be able to be tranlated by machines where possible. If fora works for that, then fine.

LinusN:
Wow. I was delighted that there were so many new posts in this thread, as I wanted to know if there really is a bug in Rockbox, but all I found was a debate about the plural form of "forum". Sigh.
