Playlist issue (>10,000 songs)

Least100Seraphs:
Hey all. New user, first post, unfortunately a problem. :(

I am using the daily build 09/18/06 of Rockbox for my iRiver H340 (bootloader patched from V1.29J) and despite having set my "Max Files in Playlist" to 15,000 (Menu, General Settings, System, Limits, Max Playlist Size, 15000), whenever I load the Playlist I get a "Playlist Buffer Full" message, and the unit only loads 10,000 songs.

I've had the system write a .cfg file and I've looked in it, and it saving the 15,000 setting, so it's not that.

Is there any way around this problem? Is there perhaps a CVS build out there that remedies it, or is there some other way that I can have my entire library on shuffle?

Just to clarify, this is a concern of the playlist load feature. The iriver can see the 11,500 ish songs without any problems, and I can access and play them all - and it can write a playlist.m3u with all the correct file names and paths in it - it just doesn't seem to be able to handle having more than 10k in the... memory?.. of the unit.

Thanks for any help you can give.

I tried to replicate the problem on my H300, but I failed. Here's what I did:

1) Set the max playlist setting to 15000

2) Reboot to make the setting take effect

3) Create a playlist of 11500 entries with the same song

4) Play it

No problem.

How do you know that it only loads exactly 10000 songs?

I have an Iuadio X5 and I have the exact same problem.  Limit is set to 20k, playlist should have 12k but when I select it, the playlist only loads 10k songs and i get the same message:  Playlist Buffer Full".  I'm using patched build 060904-0132.

PS.  I have another problem that I posted on the Iaudiophile fora, I don't know if both may be related.  The problem is that tagcache completely ignores certain folders while it adds another one at the same level.

Llorean:
Please, confirm that your problem happens with a new and unpatched build before continuing. You're using a 14 day old version, when changes have happened to TagCache and the playlisting system, and we have no way of knowing whether any patches you're using could somehow be impacting this matter (even if it seems like the patch *shouldn't* sometimes they can have odd side effects)

cal:
??? Which one should I download, the daily or the CVS build?  Pardon the stupidity, I usually download the patched builds from the Iaudiophile fora.
