Letters not correctly rendered

(1/1)

pstrg:
I modified the standard boxes wps in order to suit it for use with nimbus-14 font.

It's working well, except that on two regions of the screen some pixels of the text do not appear.

In the attached screenshot, please note:
- on the first line, string "Sep": pixels are missing in both the lower part of letters "S" and "p";
- on the third line, string "Prokofiev": pixels are missing in both in the upper part of the second "o" and of the letter "f".
Other strings are similarly affected in the same regions.

I checked and, afaik, there are no images that could be overwriting the letters.
The font is OK too: all letters are correctly rendered elsewhere.

What may be the cause of this problem?

Even if an image isn't displayed, the area it covers will be cleared if it is in a conditional. In this case it looks like the lock images (remote and main), as well as the repeat mode images, are causing the cropped text (based on the unmodified boxes.wps).

pstrg:
Right.
Missed that limitation in the documentation but already corrected my wps so that no image is in the text area.

Thanks.

audiodude:
I noticed that the "%" sign of the font nimbus 14 looks quite ugly, which may not be intended. the "/" of "%" almost looks like a "7", not like a clean "/". It would be great if one of the responsible developers could have a closer look on this (other fonts might have the same fault, too, iirc).

Lear:
That's not an incorrectly rendered letter (or glyph). The font is designed that way - and it looks the same as on Ipods, AFAIK. What looks best is a different discussion, I'd say. ;)
