one more quick question

i installed rockbox fine, but i forgot to put the rockbox.ipod file onto my iPod after instilation...

and it said that there was an error and booted up the original firmware...

and i keep connecting and unconnecting my iPod through usb and it wont read the file..

is there a way i can get it to read it?

I don't understand your problem. Put the ipod into disk mode and install a new build completely. If you did this right (and the bootloader is installed correctly) Rockbox should start.
Or what exactly are you doing?

Do you have the .rockbox folder on there as well?

yes i do...and i tried to reinstall it...maybe i didnt do it right the second time...
