WoW great answer from a Global Mod!!
KennyRIP here is the link to the manual.

I expected a better answer to a new user than a "yes". It appears that this forum is now only geared to programers and high end users and dont help put the new user. This is a bad thing that I hope will change.

The forum posting guidelines require that users actually search the site's documentation before posting. I see no reason why the Global Admin should go any further than that, especially when it's clear that the person has chosen not to read the guidelines before posting.

Not to mention the rather obvious "Documentation" link on the left that any user should click before asking whether documentation even exists.

It's not "geared to programmers and high end users," but rather "geared to people who don't request their hand be held for basic use."

I respectfully disagree, in this case the new user asked for help, he was asking for where the manual was as he is new to this board. Pointing him to the location of the manual would have been a "nice" thing to do. I agree most people as questions without reading, searching etc. and that is just a pain.
Al least he wanted to read and learn.

Well, there's two things you've missed:
1) The word "Yes" in febs' post is a link to the manual
2) Again, evidence is that the user didn't read the posting guidelines at all. The posting guidelines specifically tell you to check in the manual, so asking if there *is* one clearly tells us he didn't read the guidelines, or at least didn't pay attention to them.

So, not only was Febs not as rude as you suggested, but I would qualify this as a "question without reading" since he clearly didn't read the guidelines which is one of the things considered mandatory.

I gave him a link to the manual AND there is a link to the manual in my signature AND there is a link to the documentation in the navigation panel to the left.

Right, and this is exactly what I did.  Please be a little more careful before you criticize.

You are 100% correct I did not notice that his answer was a link! (not an obvious link)
I am sorry that I suggested he was rude, not my intention. I just want this forum to help new users.

Look  >:(
A. I didn't get to the RockBox firmware yet.. that's why I didn't read the manual regarding the firmware YET!

B. I assumed it was AVI supported because in my Iaudio the sample films are regarded as AVI fils e.g.  blabla.avi
an honest mistake

Remember, Rockbox has nothing to do with any of the companies' products that it runs on.  There are many features that are included in stock firmware that are not included in Rockbox, and the reverse as well.  Rockbox in it's present form had already been mostly developed before the X5 launched, so theres almost no influence from Cowan in the design of Rockbox.
